Split into two separate functions, Copy Management and Supply Chain Development, the CCU is an integral part of the magazine supply chain.
The Copy Management Team supports our Partners by ensuring that the publisher’s insight and strategy are used to create an effective and accurate allocation to the 55,000 UK and Ireland retail outlets. Alongside store level sales forecasting through our own in house systems, we work to the Frontline mission of “giving each and every copy the maximum chance of selling at the lowest practical cost” whether it be planning in retail promotional space, allocating to new stores or proposing print run changes for the upcoming issues. The team is structured on a partner facing basis with each title owned by a single member of the team whilst externally linking directly into wholesalers’ allocation teams. Relationships both internally and externally are of a collaborative nature allowing us to get the best results for our titles.
The Supply Chain Development Team links the CCU into key retailer accounts and is responsible for balancing the Supply Chain and copy needs of the retailer with those of our publishing partners. Each member of the team has responsibility for different retail accounts and focuses on enabling improvements across all elements of the Supply Chain, from in store processes to developing the wholesaler Sales Based Replenishment offers. The aim is to deliver the most commercially effective Supply Chain solutions at retail allowing flexibility and supporting other areas of the business.
