Describe a typical working day?
Although my role can be varied there are certain core functions that are process and deadline driven, so I feel very fortunate to have a balance of both. I am responsible for payroll and act as an interface with Frontline’s external payroll providers; this includes maintaining the HR data system to ensure we hold accurate management information. Providing advice and guidance on Frontline’s policies and procedures enables me to get to know everyone. Adding to this variety, I undertake the support work to deliver our L&D initiatives and managers with recruitment requirements.
What’s the highlight of your job so far?
Not a specific highlight but I enjoy supporting/helping people, so the role of HR Advisor suits me perfectly! I value the position of trust which I hold within Frontline.
Describe what it’s like to work at Frontline/What do you enjoy most about working at Frontline?
The people and Frontline’s unique culture, plus the variation my role brings.
How did you get your job/how did you find out about your job?
My very good friend who has been with Frontline for more than 20 years made me aware of the vacancy and she thought I would love the role and the company!
Why did you join Frontline?
Because 15 years ago I was told by my friend that it was a great place to work and I’m happy to report it is!
What’s the first magazine you bought and why?
A magazine called ‘Jackie’. It was full of pop gossip, girly makeup/fashion and soppy love stories. A must have for any impressionable girlie teenager!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Rich and famous, neither of which I’ve achieved!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy socialising, eating and drinking out as cooking is not my forte! Also I love my garden when the weather allows and enjoy plenty of sunshine holidays to compensate for our British weather!
What’s your favourite Frontline memory?
There have been many over the years but preparing and putting together a HR video for the Town meeting where I played the part of ‘Patsy’ from ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ springs to mind! It was a great laugh and a very fond memory.
